Sodexo Manager Among Top 5 Influential Women in HR & Diversity

Burlington, September 14, 2017 – Sodexo Canada’s supplier diversity manager, Elizabeth Auceda, has been named one of Canada’s most influential women in human resources and diversity by DiversityCan Magazine. This recognition puts Sodexo as the only Food Services business to be awarded this prestigious honour.

These annual awards recognize transformational executives who use their talent and knowledge to develop inclusive and diverse workforces and supplier networks. This year the magazine named five top influential women across a range of industries. The program also recognizes leadership that advances healthy and safe workplaces.

Elizabeth is the leader responsible for growing Sodexo’s Supplier Diversity program. Her role is to develop business relationships with small and medium sized enterprises owned by Indigenous people, women, members of visible minority and other underrepresented groups. She also mentors clients on how to advance inclusion and diversity within their own workforces.

“Elizabeth’s leadership in diversifying our supplier base reflects our global commitment to build communities and support women-owned enterprises. We are proud of her recognition as one of the top five influencers by DiversityCan Magazine,” says Barry Telford, CEO, Sodexo Canada.

One example of her work is with Trillium Interim Staffing Inc., a small recruiting firm that sources front line staff for Sodexo service facilities. Elizabeth began working with Trillium’s owner, Poonam Kathuria two years ago. Today, the company has grown to be a national supplier in Canada and recently established a supplier relationship with Sodexo in the United States. Poonam credits Elizabeth with giving her the confidence and knowledge required to work with a large corporation.
