A Focus on Energy Management and Local Sourcing Ensures a Top Green Employer Hat Trick for Sodexo Canada
Sodexo Canada continues to lead the industry in sustainability and corporate citizenship and celebrated Earth Day with the announcement that it has been recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers for the third consecutive year. Companies were assessed on their success in fostering a culture of environmental awareness. The recognition from Mediacorp Canada is based on Sodexo’s Better Tomorrow Plan, the company’s formal roadmap to sustainability, which guides the company toward integrating sustainable business practices into day-to-day operations. The plan includes company-wide commitments to reducing the company’s carbon footprint, water consumption, waste diversion and composting, and engaging its customers and suppliers to do the same.
“We are proud of this recognition and continue our commitment to our sustainability strategy. This year, in addition to our prior initiatives, we have focused on increasing our purchasing from local suppliers to decrease our carbon footprint, support the local economy, and met the demands of our customers,” explained Dean Johnson, President of Sodexo Canada. “We are also excited to be launching an energy management offer to our clients which will allow them to not only save money related to operating their buildings but also address their sustainability commitments.”
