Powering Success Through Food

Food fuels students to reach new heights, powering their minds and strengthening their bodies, providing delicious, nutritious meals is just the first step. To ensure students reach their full potential, we must also educate them on making healthy food and beverage choices, and understanding the impact these decisions have on their personal health, well-being, academic success and sports performance. 

That’s why we developed Powering Performance. This program combines fresh, exciting meals with engaging, age-specific nutrition education, teaching students how different foods can sustain them both physically and mentally. This knowledge empowers them to make smart decisions today and in the future. 

Powering Performance is a science-based health and wellness program that draws on the latest food research and insights from academics and students nationwide. By incorporating what we learn about your unique community, we create food experiences and educational opportunities that inspire your students to be the best versions of themselves.

The Mighty Five

Our program is built on five pillars, each featuring a "hero" ingredient, designed to help students understand the variety of food options and how different foods contribute to their health and wellness.

Focus: Food to Sharpen

Designed to sharpen focus and mental energy, the hero ingredient is salmon, an excellent source of polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acids.

Sustain: Food to Energize

Foods like berries contain dietary fibers, which support energy regulation and digestion, giving students a steady level of energy.

Renew: Food for Sustainability

These foods highlight our commitment in prioritizing local produce, fresh fruits, and community support for our campus.

Strength: Food to Fortify

The strength pillar features recipes with eggs and other high-protein ingredients that are critical for muscle development and function.

Recover: Food to Rejuvenate

Dishes include carbohydrates to replenish energy, protein to repair muscle damage, and vegetables and fruits with antioxidants to decrease inflammation.
The Powering Performance program is an outstanding tool that provides our student athletes and coaches the opportunity to be very intentional about their nutritional choices. This resource targets specific foods that will help optimize athletic performance and identifies the benefits of healthy eating.
