Fostering Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples of Canada
By promoting Indigenous history and culture, we create inclusivity and foster relationships with partners and communities. Learn more about Sodexo Canada’s EBRG for Indigenous peoples.
At Sodexo Canada, our commitment to Indigenous reconciliation is an integral part of our overarching vision. Our accomplishments encompass employment, training and collaborative ventures. By prioritizing education and raising awareness, we are proactively shaping a brighter future, fostering meaningful reconciliation with First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples. This is our pledge to contribute positively and leave a lasting, transformative impact.
On September 30, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, remembering the intergenerational trauma from residential schools. Through a virtual company-wide sharing circle led by Indigenous team members, we foster conversation, learning, and allyship. Additionally, we participate in Orange Shirt Day, wearing orange to raise awareness about the impact of residential schools and affirming our commitment to every child's importance.
National Indigenous History Month & National Indigenous Peoples Day
In June, we celebrate National Indigenous History Month, honoring the heritage, resilience, and vibrant culture of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities in Canada. And on June 21st, National Indigenous Peoples Day, we invite employees to learn and share about the diverse cultures and experiences that shape their identity.
