We are committed to encouraging our guests to develop good eating habits and healthy lifestyles. With the help of our nutritionists, we create balanced, nourishing meals adapted to guests’ lifestyles and the diversity of their tastes around the world. Our approach to sustainable and healthy eating relies on four main factors: responsible sourcing; promoting plant-based meals; nutrition, health and well-being; and the prevention of food waste.

Responsible Sourcing

Sodexo spends millions on food purchases globally every year. This gives us an invaluable opportunity to improve the quality of life for our stakeholders by making sure every dollar spent creates a positive impact on individuals, communities and the environment. Our ultimate goal is to use products that are 100% locally grown, produced and processed across Canada.

Promoting Plant-Based Alternatives

Our chefs are in a unique and privileged position to improve the health of our customers while reducing carbon emissions. That’s why we’re committed to cutting our carbon emissions by 34% in 2025, in accordance with the most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming. One of the ways to achieve this target is to increase our plant-based meal option worldwide to 33% by 2025.

Nutrition, Health and Well-being

We place great importance on the health and well-being of our guests, notably by raising awareness around healthier lifestyles. When our guests choose Mindful by Sodexo menus, available in school cafeterias and at corporate sites, they know that they will get ingredient transparency, along with high quality nutrition and flavour. They can make informed choices that meet their health and well-being goals.
