  • The Imagine cookbook represents something very special for all of those who contributed. Following a culinary competition we put together in early 2021, we wanted to thank and showcase our talented culinarians from our Sodexo Imagine team. This cookbook tells a personal story about who they are, what they like, and why they wanted to share.

The Imagine cookbook is dedicated to all the chefs, home chefs, moms, dads and grandparents who have learnt the art of cooking and have generously shared with others to enjoy.

I am by no means a chef, but I do appreciate a good meal. I cook for my family and friends because I enjoy sharing with them; it is all about the experience and creating memories. When we sit at a table with people we share not only a meal, we share our life, our knowledge, our passion, and it creates a personal connection. When the food we eat creates a memorable emotion, it enhances the overall experience. Food becomes a part of the conversation and we still remind each other how amazing the food was - even years later!

Sodexo Imagine is filled with culinary talent, beyond our formally trained chefs. Every day we take the time to prepare the best possible culinary experiences for all the students, faculty, staff and guests that walk into our dining rooms, restaurants, or cafés. These culinary experiences are made with passion and dedication, but especially with love.

We often eat with our eyes and no cookbook is complete without beautiful, mouthwatering photos. Some of the pictures in this cookbook were taken by the talented Chef Aymeric Halbmeyer (the same chef/photographer who took the photos for our 2021 Culinary Report) and prepared by Chef Yanick Perrin from Université Laval and Chef Hugo Dupuy from Bishop’s University.

I want to personally thank everyone who submitted a recipe. I also want to congratulate the winners from our first culinary challenge:

    1. Chef Neil Jamieson, York House
    2. Chef Duc Tao, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton
    3. Chef Yanick Perrin, Université Laval

We can’t wait for you to try their recipes and to create delicious and sensational memories for yourself.

Finally, a special thanks to the team who put this cookbook together: Chef Leanne English, Marketing Director Anna Nguyen, and Marketing Manager Mona Law. Without your dedication, vision, and belief in this project, it would not have been possible.

Now, please enjoy this homage to the chef in all of us. Bon appétit!
