Burlington, ON – Sodexo Canada has announced its partnership with the Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) and Nipissing University. As part of a multi-year agreement, Sodexo will operate the Bay Bistro restaurant and On the Rocks Nightclub, as well as provide exclusive catering services on-premises.

"We are excited to be partnering with Sodexo on this venture, as a space for our students and the community is needed. We look forward to the memories that will be created in the future,” said NUSU President, Riley McEntee. Knowing that catering plays a key role in establishing a sense of community on campus, Sodexo will offer student groups access to cost-effective catering services, including a Student Social Value Menu, and will work with the student body to develop catering solutions to suit their needs. Students will also be able to order food from the Bay Bistro and On the Rocks menus for catering events as well.

“Sodexo’s extensive experience in the post-secondary sector, understanding of student needs, and commitment to improving the quality of life of the people and communities it serves will be invaluable as we seek to grow our conference business and ensure a financially viable business model for NUSU’s restaurant and nightclub,” said Renée Hacquard, Assistant Vice-President, Finance and Infrastructure, Nipissing University.

To best support, the community, NUSU, Nipissing University, and Sodexo will review catering menus and services on a semesterly basis to make any necessary adjustments.

“Sodexo is excited to work alongside NUSU and Nipissing University to make the Bay Bistro and On the Rocks Nightclub a sought-after destination for the Nipissing University and North Bay communities. Our partners have developed a truly inspiring new Student Centre to support their campus community, and we are happy to be a part of the project and also help make this space a successful community hub,” said Martin Lapointe, Senior Vice-President, Operations, Sodexo Campus Canada.
